How to make your Tesla even better with highly recommended accessories


Whether it’s to improve performance, accentuate the look or add additional protection, there are numerous accessories on the market made by Tesla and aftermarket manufacturers that can take your Tesla to the next level.


In this post we are sharing our ‘must have’ accessories that have really stood out and made a difference. Most of these accessories are fairly inexpensive and worth every penny.

Note: One thing to keep in mind when you’re ready to make a purchase, is that Tesla continuously refreshes and upgrades their vehicles. The same model made in the same year could have differences depending on specifically when the vehicle was produced. So make sure the product you choose is one that fits the model, year and version that you have.

1. Center Screen Protector


The interior focal point of any Tesla is the expansive touchscreen which provides access to almost all of the controls in the car. Given how much you interact with the center display, you’ll want to protect it from dust, oil, finger prints and most importantly scratches.


Center screen protectors are custom cut to match the size of a model’s touchscreen and are relatively inexpensive and easy to install. The tempered glass cover doesn’t effect the touchscreen’s quality or sensitivity and provides a smooth surface which is scratch and finger-print resistant.

2. All Weather Floor Mats



All weather floor mats are one of the simplest and easiest upgrades you can make to your Tesla to protect it from everyday wear and tear. These custom fit mats provide protection from the toughest climate conditions and also keeps your floor clean from the occasional food or drink spill.

3. Tesla Key Fob



The Tesla Key Fob is our preferred method to lock and unlock our Tesla cars. Key fobs are equipped with passive entry which means the doors and trunk will automatically lock and unlock when the fob is within three feet of the vehicle. No more fumbling in your bag or reaching into your pockets to find your key, this accessory frees up your hands and makes it easier to put away groceries to quickly get you on your way.


Something to be aware of is that if you have the Model S or X, your vehicle will come with key fobs, however, you’ll need to purchase a Model 3 or Model Y Key Fob from the Tesla Shop for $150 USD.

4. Tesla Paint Repair Kit



Rock chips and scratches are bound to happen on your car’s paint with all the road debris that hits your car with everyday driving. That’s where a paint repair kit that’s quick and easy to apply comes in handy to repair these unsightly imperfections. Tesla sells paint kits on their site that are inexpensive, factory color coded and contains all the tools and materials needed to fill in chips and small scratches to create a smooth surface with just a few simple steps.

5. Portable Storage Device



Dashcam and Sentry Mode are two of the greatest security features that come with a Tesla. These features allow you to record footage using the external cameras when the car is in motion and when it’s parked to protect against theft and break-ins. In order to activate these features, you’ll need a portable storage device to store all of the footage. Currently Tesla includes one storage device with the purchase of any new Tesla models, however, if you are in the market for one, there are a number of options you can choose from that are inexpensive and provide ample storage to ensure all your footage is recorded and saved.
